Alaska Wildlife Troopers were notified that an 18-foot aluminum fishing vessel had capsized near Ninilchik on Saturday, May 25th, 2024, at 3:39 p.m.
Four adults and two juveniles were aboard the boat when it capsized approximately 2 miles south of Ninilchik and three miles offshore.
A good samaritan charter fishing vessel, “The Grinch,” was in the area and rescued all six individuals and transported them back to the boat launch in Ninilchik.
The six individuals were evaluated by EMS and declined further medical treatment.
