A 20-year-old unidentified female received non-life threatening injuries from a bear on the shores of Skilak Lake on Tuesday.
Central Emergency Services responded to Upper Skilak Lake boat launch after the report came in at 4:50 pm according to Captain Terry Bookey.
Capt. Bookey: “She was transferred to the boat launch to meet with CES medics on scene who had requested that Life Med also be on scene. The female was transported with head, back, and upper extremity injuries via Life Med to Anchorage with non-life threatening injuries.”
The attack happened across the lake from the boat launch near Cottonwood Creek.
He did not know the circumstances preceding the bear attack.
