The Seward Highway closed temporarily around 2:00 pm Monday afternoon after a small plane safely landed on the roadway near Girdwood.
The Alaska State Troopers and Girdwood Fire Department responded.
The highway was closed near milepost 89 for approximately 15 minutes while the pilot and some bystanders pushed the aircraft off of the road.
The reason for the landing is unknown but the pilot and only passenger were both unhurt.
