The National Weather Service in Anchorage reports that a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect till 5:00 AM Sunday for parts of the Kenai Peninsula.

The affected areas include Kenai, Soldotna, Homer, and Cooper Landing, which are all predicted to see snow accumulations of between 5 to 7 inches with the highest amounts along the Homer Bluffs.

If you intend on driving anywhere this evening into tomorrow morning, the NWS specifically names the Sterling Highway as a potential affected area for snowfall. Plan on slippery road conditions. Pockets of blowing snow will also cause reduced visibility for the higher elevations near Kachemak Bay.

Rain could continue to mix with snow through the early evening for the lower elevations. Through the overnight, cold air will allow precipitation to become all snow. The worst weather conditions are going to be between Anchor Point and Kasilof.
