Let fun take flight this year at the City of Kenai’s Annual Kite Festival at Millennium Square Park in Kenai.
The festival has been a tradition in Kenai since 2019, when the first festival took off at Kenai North Beach.
The festival entails a kite demo by AlasKiters in which folks can watch expert kite flyers show off their skills & larger-than-life kites. It will also include a Build-A-Kite Station to build your kite and watch it soar.
Enjoy a day packed with family fun, including field games, activities, frozen treats, a bubble station, music, and more.
All supplies are free while they last.
There will also be food trucks on-site.
The festival is from noon to 3 pm on Saturday, May 31.
If folks would like to make a kite but have it done before the festival, the Kenai Library also offers a free kite workshop on Friday, May 30, from 4 to 5 p.m. All materials will be provided, and no registration is required.
Community volunteers and contributors, such as AlasKiters Group, The Salvation Army, Main Street Tap & Grill, Kenai Walmart, and Kenai Safeway, made event activities possible.
