Soccer Teams Open NLC Play Against Valley Teams

The high school soccer season for Soldotna and Kenai opened Northern Lights Conference play with a pair of weekend series against Valley opponents.

 

Friday’s Game Results

Kenai Girls 0 – Colony 3

The Kardinal girls were shutout on Friday by the Colony Knights 3-0.

Kenai Boys 2 – Colony 1

The Kardinal boys opened conference play with a 2-1 victory over Colony.  Kenai received goals by Zack Tuttle and Damien Redder.

SoHi Girls 4 – Palmer 0 

The Star girls opened conference play with a 4-0 shutout of the Palmer Moose. Abi Tuttle scored a pair of goals and Ryann Cannava and Elena Bramante added single goals.

SoHi Boys 3 – Palmer 0

The SoHi boys shutout Palmer 3-0 to open NLC play.  Eli Sheridan scored twice and Ethan Bott added a solo goal for the Stars victory.

 

Saturday’s Game Results

Kenai Girls 3 – Palmer 0

The Kardinal girls recorded their first conference win on Saturday 3-0 over the Palmer Moose.  Kenai goals were scored by Annabelle Schneiders and a pair of goals by Samantha Morse.

Kenai Boys 7 – Palmer 0

The Kardinal boys recorded their second conference win with a 7-0 shutout of the Palmer Moose.  Zack Tuttle scored four goals; Damien Redder, Rykker Riddall and Nate Beiser scored solo goals.

SoHi Girls 1 – Colony 6

Journey Miller scored SoHi’s only goal in Saturday’s 6-1 loss to Colony.

SoHi Boys 1 – Colony 4

Alex Montague scored the Stars only goal in a 4-1 loss to the Knights.
