Soldotna 24, Kenai 3
Soldotna dominated Kenai 24-3 in three innings of conference play, improving to 6-0 in league and 15-5-1 overall. The Stars scored 12 runs in the first inning and led 23-0 after two, piling up 16 hits and taking advantage of six Kenai errors.
Isabelle Cruz pitched three innings and also went 4 for 5 with five RBIs. Alyssa McDonald was 4 for 4 with five RBIs, and Tatum Cooper scored four runs. Juliet Innes, Lilly Dawley, and Isabella Gares also had multi-run games.
Kenai got two hits and scored three in the third to avoid a shutout. Caitlyn Crapps drove in two, and Blakeley Jorgensen pitched into the third inning despite tough conditions.
Friday, May 16
Kenai 15, Homer 3 / Kenai 12, Homer 6
Kenai swept Homer in a doubleheader Friday, winning 15-3 and 12-6 to move to 4-2 in the NLC and 12-11 overall.
In Game 1, Lola McEwen gave up three runs on six hits over four innings. Kailey Stynsberg went 3 for 3 with three runs and two RBIs. Kayani Whicker added four RBIs, and Seylor Tomrdle drove in two.
In Game 2, Kenai trailed 6-2 before scoring nine runs in the fifth. Blakeley Jorgensen hit for the cycle, going 4 for 5 with three RBIs. Ellis pitched 5.2 innings in relief, allowing just two earned runs. Stynsberg added three RBIs, and Avia Miller scored twice for the Kardinals.
Saturday, May 17
Kodiak 9, Soldotna 1 / Soldotna 13, Kodiak 5
Soldotna split a doubleheader at Kodiak on Saturday, handing the Bears their first NLC loss since 2018.
Kodiak took Game 1, 9-1, with only two hits but four SoHi errors. Isabelle Cruz allowed nine runs (five earned) and struck out five. Cruz and Kacey Cunningham each had a hit for SoHi.
In Game 2, Cruz rebounded in the circle, allowing just two earned runs over six innings and striking out 11. She also went 3 for 4 with three RBIs. Alyssa McDonald scored twice, Lilly Dawley had two RBIs, and Izzy Jones scored three times as SoHi improved to 7-1 in conference and 16-6-1 overall.
