Two Soldotna High School alumni qualified and competed against top athletes from throughout the United States at the 70th Annual NAIA Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships contested May 26-28 at Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Brenner Furlong, SoHi Class of 2018, was a member of the Dakota State 4X400M Relay team which finished 6th in the finals with a time of 3:15.41 earning Brenner and his teammates All-American honors. The team ran a 3:13.54 in the prelims for a Dakota State school record.
Galen Brantley III, 2019 Soldotna High School graduate and freshman at Dickinson State, finished 22nd in a field of 30 national qualifiers in the Men’s Shot Put finals with a distance of 15.55M or 51′.
