The Soldotna Star baseball team rebounded on Saturday with a 6-1 victory over Kodiak; the Stars manufacturing six runs with only four hits and solid pitching.
SoHi 6 – Kodiak 1
The Stars starting pitcher Colby Sturman turned in a solid seven innings striking out eight, allowing only two hits and a single run to the Bears.
The SoHi offense took advance of five Kodiak errors scoring five runs in the fifth inning and adding a single run in the sixth. The fifth inning featured five runs for the Stars with only one hit, four base-on-balls, three errors and 10 batters. SoHi’s run in the sixth came on a three-base throwing error scoring Tucker Blough from first base.
