The Soldotna Stars baseball team rallied from a one-run deficit for an 8-7 win and the SoHi girls softball team held on for a one-run 14-13 victory on Monday night at the Soldotna baseball fields.
SoHi Baseball 8 – Homer 7
The SoHi baseball team scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning capitalizing on a Mariner throwing error which scored Josh Pieh and Dylan Davidizar for the 8-7 Stars victory. Daltyn Deborski lead the Stars offense going 3 for 4 with three runs and two RBI for SoHi. SoHi starting pitcher Atticus Gibson threw 5 2-3 innings and allowed eight runs (one earned) on six hits.
SoHi Softball 14 – Kenai 13
The Soldotna girls used an 11-run, second inning to build a 12-2 lead and held-off a late Kenai rally for a 14-13 victory over the Kardinals. The Stars offense was lead by Makynzi Deborski, who went 3 for 3 with a walk, an RBI and four runs scored. SoHi pitcher Miah Mead threw six innings allowing eight base-on-balls and striking out seven.
The Kardinals scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to draw to within a run at 14-13. Andie Galloway and Zaharah Wilshusen each scored three runs for the Kardinals.
