The Soldotna Stars baseball team, winners of the 2022 Division II state baseball championship, traded shovels for bats and opened play in the 4th Annual Buddy Dale Invitational hosted by Wasilla High School.
SoHi 3 – Chugiak 15
In their first on-field action of the spring baseball season, SoHi managed just three hits and three runs against Division I Chugiak in the first round pairing at the Buddy Dale tournament. The Stars scored a run in the first inning and two runs in the third inning with Andrew Pieh scoring twice and Sage Cruz scoring once in the four-inning, run-rule contest.
