The Northern Lights Conference Basketball Tournament was basically chalk all the way.
The ACS girls continued their undefeated run through conference opponents with an 86-49 dismantling of the Colony Knights led by Sayvia Sellers with 33 points for the Lions in the girls championship game.
The Colony boys, unbeaten in conference play, downed ACS 57-45 with Jayce Underwood scoring 20 points for Colony in the boys championship game.
SoHi Girls Saturday Tournament Run
3rd Place Game: Wasilla Girls 52 – SoHi Girls 34
The SoHi Star girls led 6-5 after the first quarter; however, trailed 24-17 at the half in a 52-34 loss to the Warriors. Josie Sheridan scored 15 points to lead the Stars and Katelyn Morrison added nine.
4th Place Game: SoHi Girls 49 – Palmer 28
The SoHi girls opened and closed the NLC tournament with wins against the Palmer Moose earning the Stars a fourth-place finish in the conference tournament.
On Saturday, the Star girls opened a 20-2 lead on their way to a 49-28 victory. Josie Sheridan posted a season-high 28 points for Soldotna girls.
SoHi Boys Saturday Tournament Run
4th Place Game: SoHi Boys 51 – Kodiak 47
The Soldotna boys defeated Kodiak 51-47 in the fourth place game, avenging an opening round loss to the Bears. SoHi rallied from an early deficit to lead 24-21 at the half. for the game, Izaiah Gilbert topped all scorers with 17 points and Andrew Pieh added 12 points.
