The 2015 Kenai Invitational Swimming and Diving Meet, two days of competition held in the Kenai Pool, crowned the SoHi boys and the Colony girls as team champions. Swimmers, following a series of invitational meets, will gather at Soldotna High School on Friday, September 25th for the 36th SoHi Pentathlon.
Top performances for the Kenai Invitational on the boys side included multiple individual event victories for Cody Watkins, winning the boys 50 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle. The SoHi boys also won the 200 Medley Relay and the 400 Freestyle Relay with members Watkins, Jacob Creglow, Jacob Hall and David Hall. Kenai’s Savaii Heaven raced to a win in the 100 Backstroke.
Top performances on the girls side included a single, individual win for SoHi’s Claire McElroy in the 50 Freestyle and a victory for SoHi’s Portia Padilla in the 100 Backstroke. The SoHi girls also won the 200 Medley Relay , Rachel Davidson, Claire McElroy, Portia Padilla, Emily Boone, and the 400 Freestyle Relay with members Davidson, McElroy, Padilla, Juliussen.
SoHi Pentathlon
The 36th Annual SoHi Pentathlon will be contested in the SoHi Pool on Friday, September 25th. Swimmers will swim five events with the combined times determining the individual placement. The events include the 100-yard individual medley, the 50 freestyle, the 50 butterfly, the 50 breaststroke and the 50 backstroke. Scheduled start time is 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
