SoHi Dominates Kodiak 63-7 In NLC Opener

The Soldotna Stars opened the scoring on Saturday against the Kodiak Bears with an opening 55-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jersey Truesdell to tight end Galen Brantley on the game’s first play.  Fourteen plays from scrimmage later, the SoHi offense posted its seventh touchdown on a 25-yard pass to Wyatt Medcoff.  Bracketed in-between were: Cameron Johnson touchdown catch of 11 yards; an Aaron Faletoi TD run of 21 yards; a second touchdown reception for Brantley (11 yards); a 43-yard rushing touchdown for Johnson; a Wyatt Medcoff 53-yard touchdown run and a 42-yard Hudson Metcalf interception return for a touchdown.  All in the game’s first half; SoHi starters began rotating out in the second quarter.  Half time score: SoHi 56, Kodiak 0.

 

The Stars added a single, second half score on an Austin Escott 5-yard run.  Eleven different Stars carried the football, not including Truesdell, for the SoHi offense; Truesdell completed four of four passes for three touchdowns.

 

The Stars host Eagle River (4-2 overall, 2-0 in NLC) on Saturday, September 28 at Soldotna High School.
