The Soldotna Stars offense proved unstoppable and the SoHi defense un-penetrable as the Soldotna football program recorded its seventh-straight Division II football state championship with a 46-14 controlled dismantling of Eagle River.
The Stars scored on every possession in the first half except for time expiring on the Stars fourth drive. SoHi drove to the Eagle River 10-yard line on the Stars first possession of the second half; however, turned the ball over on downs. SoHi then scored on three-straight possession and an interception return for a total of 45 points. The Stars defense allowed only a 47-yard touchdown pass in the first half and a 57-yard touchdown pass on the game’s final play. Final Score: SoHi 46 – Eagle River 14.
For the game, SoHi rushed for 268 yards lead by Wyatt Medcoff with 101 yards, Aaron Faletoi, 60 yards, Jersey Truesdell, 54 yards and Hudson Metcalf, 51 yards. SoHi also added 61 passing yards and two touchdown passes.

SoHi holds Alaska football’s longest current win streak at nine after SoHi closed the 2018 season with nine straight victories; and the new streak begins.

Leading 7-0 at the half, the Ben Eielson Ravens blew open the second half for a 36-0 Division III championship victory over Barrow.
The Ravens win their fifth Division III football title in seven years.
