The offensive juggernaut that is Soldotna football attacked the Palmer Moose with a ground game and passing attack that combined for 542 total yards in a 55-21 dismantling of Palmer in the Division II semi-final football game on Saturday in Palmer.

The Soldotna Stars, #1 seed from the Northern Lights Conference, scored on eight-straight possessions against the #2 seed from the Railbelt Conference Palmer; SoHi recording three rushing and five passing touchdowns.
Yes, five passing touchdowns (actually, five passing touchdowns in five-straight drives)!
SoHi’s defense again set the tone– after the first Palmer series. The Moose scored on a 4th and one at the Palmer 31-yard line with a 69-yard touchdown run on Palmer’s opening drive.
SoHi allowed only 56 rushing yards for the remainder of the game.
The Stars scored on every possession against Palmer, except for the final, 4th quarter possession to run out the clock.
Quarterback Jersey Truesdall rushed for two touchdowns and threw for four touchdowns. Halfback Hudson Metcalf rushed for 59 yards and a touchdown; caught three passes for 132 yards and two touchdowns and threw a halfback option pass for a touchdown to Cy Updike. Metcalf accounted for 226 all-purpose yards. Truesdall amassed 323 rushing and passing yards.

Division II Football Championship Schedule
The Soldotna Stars will play for a seventh-straight, Division II (Medium School) state football championship on Saturday, October 13th at Palmer High School.
The Stars will battle the Eagle River Wolves in an 11:30 a.m. championship game.

Eagle River 30 – Lathrop 24 DII Semi-Final
Eagle River will appear in its first football championship game earning a shot at the Stars with a come-from-behind 30-24 victory over Lathrop in Saturday’s second playoff contest. The Eagles scored on a 4th down, 56-yard touchdown pass with only 1:24 remaining and trailing 24-22.
