With a mitigation plan approved by the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District and safety procedures in place, the Soldotna High School summer football workouts will begin on Thursday on the Soldotna High School football field. This program will be the first to receive mitigation approval from the district.
SoHi Head Football Coach Galen Brantley submitted mitigation plans and has designed a format for workouts which will include social distancing, daily temperature checks and daily surveying of athletes.
Brantley and his coaching staff will adhere to a strict daily plan.
Workouts will be split into two sections beginning at 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. and workouts begin on Thursday, June 11.
The need for smaller groups dictated by current threat level and social distancing.
SoHi football will be hosting a Zoom meeting for players and parents Wednesday, June 10th beginning at 6 p.m. A link to the Zoom meeting provided below and available on the Soldotna Stars Football Facebook Page.
On the Soldotna Stars Football Facebook Page, Coach Brantley has posted a sample of the KPBSD Supplemental Hold Harmless Release & Waiver Form and the SoHi football summer workout sheet.
