SoHi Girls Close Season With 6th Place At State Swim Championships

The Soldotna Stars swim team qualified 17 swimmers and divers to the ASAA State Swimming and Diving Championships and when all the heats and finals were complete, the SoHi girls placed sixth in the team scoring and a respective group of Stars placed in the state swimming event finals.

 

The state swimming championships crowned Juneau as girls champions and Dimond won the boys team title.  Nine state records were broken and Kodiak’s Tahna Lindguist set two individual state records.

Megan Weeks: 3rd in 50 Freestyle; 3rd in 100 Freestyle

Megan English: 5th in 100 Backstroke; 6th in 100 Butterfly

Girls 400 Free Relay-English, Weeks, Portia Padilla, Rachel Davidson: 6th

Girls 200 Medley Relay-English, Weeks, Padilla and Isabell Henry: 4th

David Hill: 4th in 50 Freestyle

Cody Watkins: 6th in 50 Freestyle; 5th in 100 Butterfly

Jacob Hill: 6th in 200 Freestyle

Jacob Creglow: 6th in 100 Bresaststroke

Kenai Central High State Finalist

Mikaela Pitsch: 6th in 1-Meter Diving
