In the Maroon Bracket at the 2020 Dimond Lady Lynx Basketball Shootout, the Soldotna Stars girls basketball team dominated play against Pt. Hope (Tikigaq) in a 62-23 victory over the Harpoonerettes at Dimond High School on Thursday.
Following an opening day loss to Chugiak, SoHi, in the Maroon Bracket, held Pt. Hope to eight points in the first half for a 30-8 halftime advantage. The Stars lead 45-13 after three quarters en route to the 62-23 win. Itu Tuisaula lead the Stars with 19 points and Morgan Bouschor added 12 points.
The Lady Stars advance to play Wasilla in the 8:00 p.m. game on Friday in the Dimond auxiliary gym (both teams play in the Northern Lights Conference of 4A basketball and will meet next weekend in conference play in Wasilla).
