SoHi Girls Record Second Win In San Diego: Star Boys Down North Pole At Capital City

Soldotna High School basketball teams play away for the holiday season with basketball tournaments including the So-Cal Holiday Prep Classic in San Diego for the Soldotna Lady Stars and the Capital City Basketball Tournament in Juneau for the SoHi boys.

 

SoHi Girls @ San Diego

SoHi 70- Valhalla 24

The Lady Stars recorded a second-straight victory in San Diego with a 70-24 win over Valhalla High School.  Itu Tuisaula scored 28 points for the Stars and Josie Sheridan added 12 points.

SoHi 59 – Gladstone, Oregon 34

The Soldotna Stars girls opened play at the So-Cal Holiday Prep Classic on Thursday at Santana High School in San Diego with a 59-34 victory over Gladstone, Oregon.

SoHi lead 18-12 at the half and extended to a 41-22 advantage after three quarters.  An 18-point fourth quarter and the SoHi Lady Stars recorded a 59-34 win.  Itu Tuisaula lead the Stars with 22 points and Drysta Crosby-Schneider added 10 points.

 

SoHi continues the four-game tournament with a Saturday, December 28th contest against Patrick Henry High, California at 6:30 p.m. at Valhalla High School.

SoHi’s tournament play closes on Monday, December 30th with a game against West Hills, California at 9:30 a.m. at West Hills High School.

 

Soldotna Boys @ Juneau

The SoHi boys began play in the Capital City Basketball Tournament on Friday and are scheduled for three games (Friday, Saturday and Monday) in the round-robin format tournament.

SoHi 74 – North Pole 19

The SoHi boys built a 51-15 lead at the half against North pole and cruised to a 74-19 win in Juneau.  Tyler Morrison scored 16 points to lead the Stars and the SoHi boys received double-digit scoring from Jersey Truesdell (15), Ray Chumley (13), Ethan Sewell had (11).

 

The Stars face Haines on Saturday at 3 p.m. and close the tournament against host Juneau on Monday at 7 p.m.
