SoHi Hockey Hosts Kenai; Kardinals Can Clinch Railbelt Title

The Soldotna Stars hockey team, with two games remaining in the regular season, are in a four-team battle for the #2 seed in the Railbelt Conference and will host the Kenai Kardinals on Thursday, January 27 at the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.

The Kardinals are in position, with a victory over SoHi, to claim the Railbelt Conference Championship and likely earn the #1 seed into the ASAA Division II State Hockey Championships.

 

The Stars and Kards face-off at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the SRSC.

In the regular season, Kenai defeated SoHi 6-5 in overtime at the Peninsula Ice Challenge in October; SoHi and Kenai tied 4-4 on Dec. 14th.

 

The top four teams in the Railbelt Conference and the top two teams in the Aurora Conference advance to the ASAA Division II State Hockey Championships with automatic berths.  Two additional at-large berths will be assigned, between the Railbelt and Aurora, following the completion of the regular season.
