The North/South wrestling tournament, hosted at Soldotna High School, featured teams from the Northern Lights Conference in high school wrestling. Division II peninsula teams battled at the ACS Invitational at Anchorage Christian School.
North/South Tournament
The Soldotna Stars finished second in the team scoring behind Colony; the Knights with 173.5 points; the Stars, 163.5; Wasilla, 107.5 and Palmer, 104.
Weight class champions for SoHi included: Wayne Mellon at 171 pounds, Hunter Richardson at 189 and Liam Babitt at 215.
Top SoHi finishes included: Ezekiel Miller was second at 130, Trevor Michael was second at 135, Saiyan Baker was second at 145, Scott Micheal was second at 152, Collin Pack was second at 160, Nicholas Rackley was second at 130, Tustin Keller was third at 103, Ryan Buchanan was third at 112, Hunter Bras was third at 135, Edgar Land was third at 152, Joe Whittom was third at 285, Blaze Michael was fourth at 119, Simon Willets was fifth at 112, Liam Boyd was fifth at 145, Dennis Walker was fifth at 189 and Kevin Steger was sixth at 215.
ACS Invitational
The Kenai Kardinals earned one individual title and placed sixth overall at the ACS Invitational.
At 125 pounds, Talon Wicker won the weight class finishing unbeaten and recording a pin in the final match. Owen Wicker placed second in the 130-pound class. Also for the Kardinals, Andrew Gaethle, third at 152 and Elijah Dambacher, sixth at 135.
For the Nikiski Bulldogs, Simon Grenier placed second at 171, Sam Yerkes, third at 145 and Jackson Wittmer, fifth at 160.
The SoHi girls competing at ACS in the ACS Denali Glass Invitational recorded a championship at 145 pounds by Trinity Donovan and a third place at 135 pounds by Daisy Hannevold.
