Behind a dominating running game and a defense which shutdown Palmer for three quarters, the Soldotna Stars defeated Palmer 46-27 to improve to 2-0 in Northern Lights Conference football on Friday night at SoHi.
SoHi 46 – Palmer 27
Four rushing touchdowns on the first four drives in the first half elevated the Soldotna Stars to a 28-0 halftime lead over the Palmer Moose; enroute to a 48-27 victory for the Stars.
The SoHi defense held Palmer’s offense in check, allowing one kick return for a touchdown in the third quarter and no offensive touchdowns through three quarters. The Stars controlled Palmer 40-7 into the fourth quarter.

For the game, Brayden Taylor rushed for over 150 yards from the quarterback position and scored three rushing touchdowns. Gehret Medcoff rushed for over 150 yards as the Stars posted a third-straight 300+ rushing game.
SoHi improves to 3-1 on the regular season and 2-0 in the NLC standings. The Stars travel to Eagle River on Saturday, September 18th to face the unbeaten Wolves.
