The Colony Invitational opened the high school cross country running season with runners from the Valley, Anchorage and the Peninsula competing on the Colony High course.
The Colony Knights raced to the team titles in both the girls and boys varsity races. Soldotna High finish second in the team scoring in both girls and boys competition.
Brianna Gerlach, 2014 1-2-3A state cross country champion, lead the girls race posting a 19:11 for the girls title. SoHi’s Olivia Hutchings placed second in 20:00.
The boys champion Seward’s Hunter Kratz won the five-kilometer event in 17:11. SoHi’s Aaron Swedburg placed third overall to lead the SoHi boys.
