SoHi Shuts-Out Eagle River At Hockey Showdown

The Soldotna Stars found their offensive attack in the second round of the Stars & Stripe Showdown Hockey Tournament on Friday at the MTA Center in Palmer.

SoHi downed Eagle River 6-0 with goaltender Tanner Clyde recording 17 saves for the shut out.

SoHi opened the scoring with a Dylan Dahlgren goal at 6:37 of the first period.  On the power-play in the final minute of the first period, SoHi scored on a Tyler Howell goal at 14:40 and a one-timer by Daniel Heath at 14:50.

Leading 3-0 in the second period, Andrew Arthur netted a slap shot goal at 8:24 for a 4-0 SoHi advantage.

The Stars added two, third period goals; one for Gehret Medcoff (1:45) and one for Dylan Davidhizer (8:24).

 

Saturday Game Schedule

SoHi plays Dimond in the 5:15 p.m. game on Saturday to close out the Stars tournament run.

Kenai faces Wasilla on Saturday in the 3:15 p.m. contest.
