The Soldotna Stars softball team scored 23 runs in the first two innings, en-route to a 26-6 victory over Kenai in Northern Lights Conference action.
The win improved SoHi’s conference record to 4-1 and guaranteed the Stars one of two berths to the small-school state softball tournament. The NLC qualifies two teams to the small-school tournament; Mid-Alaska, two teams; and Southeast, two teams.
SoHi batted nearly three times through the line-up in the second inning, scoring 21 runs. The game was called after three innings. SoHi travels to the Valley for non-conference contests against Colony and Wasilla on Friday and Saturday.
