SoHi Sweeps Nikiski In Non-Conference Basketball: Kenai Girls Down Mariners

Defending home court, the Soldotna Stars basketball teams recorded non-conference victories over Nikiski at Soldotna High School on Tuesday; the SoHi girls pulling away from the Bulldogs and the Star boys rallying in the fourth quarter for the win.  The Kenai girls defeated Homer in Southcentral Conference play.

 

SoHi Girls 50 – Nikiski 29

After an even 7-7 first quarter, the SoHi Lady Stars outscored Nikiski in each of the remaining three quarters for a 50-29 victory over Nikiski.  SoHi scored 19 in the second and 16 in the third quarter to pull away from the Bulldogs.  Aliann Schmidt lead the Stars with 15 points.

SoHi Boys 51 – Nikiski 46

The Bulldogs lead 15-6 after one quarter and 29-18 at the half against the home team Soldotna Stars in the boys varsity game.  The Stars closed to within four points at 35-31 after three quarters and SoHi took over the lead early in the fourth quarter.  The Stars outscored Nikiski 20-11 in the final quarter.  Jersey Truesdell lead SoHi with 23 points; Jace Kornstad scored 18 for the Bulldogs.

 

Kenai Girls 63 – Homer 27

The Kardinal girls posted a Southcentral Conference victory 63-27 over the Homer Mariners.  Four Kardinals scored in double-figures lead by Jaycie Calvert with 15 points and Logan Satathite with 14 points.
