Soldotna High School raced, jumped and threw to both the girls and boys team championships at the 2021 Region III 4A Track & Field Championships culminating two days of competition at Wasilla High School.
The Soldotna girls entered as the favorites for the Region III 4A Girls Track & Field team championships and the SoHi boys were figured to be “in the hunt” for a region championship.
When the results were tabulated….
The Star girls individual athletes and relay combinations dominated the field with the SoHi girls accumulating 205 team points surpassing Palmer at 113.5.
The Star boys peaked at the proper time recording 135 team points to outdistance Wasilla at 108.
Region III 4A Girls Results
SoHi senior Drysta Crosby-Schneider lead the Stars with three individual championships including the 400M (61.04), Long Jump (15′ 7.75″) and the Triple Jump (34′ 4″).

…4X800M Relay (Ellie Burns, Hosanna VanHout, Jordan Strausbaugh, Erika Arthur)
SoHi’s Emma Brantley won the 100M Hurdles and Kaytlin McAnelly won the 300M Hurdles
SoHi totaled 12 top-four performances in the individual running events.
SoHi also totaled eight top-four performances in the field events.
Region III 4A Boys Results
The Soldotna boys earned the team title on the strength of the team depth and individual performances by Nathan Johnson, Trenton O’Reagan and Dylan Dahlgren.
Nate Johnson raced to individual championships in the 400M (52.08), 800M (2:03.99), a member of the 4X400M Relay and added a second place in the Triple Jump.
Trenton O”Reagan won the boys Long Jump (20′ 6.75″) and placed first as a member of the 4X100M Relay, and placed second in both the 100M and 200M.
Austin Adams won the 110M Hurdles (17.98)

In the throwing events…
Dylan Dahlgren won the boys discus (136′ 10″) and placed second in the Shot Put (47′ 10″)
ASAA State Division I Track & Field Championships
The 2021 ASAA State Division I Track & Field Championships are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, May 28-29 at Dimond High School.
State qualifiers will be determined based on results from four regional championships. State qualifiers will be posted when released by ASAA.
