Home court advantage proved true on Thursday at both Soldotna High School and Kenai Central with the Stars and Kards posting victories.
SoHi 3 – Nikiski 1
The Soldotna Stars recognized their seniors (and the Nikiski seniors) at SoHi on Thursday then faced-off in a non-divisional pairing; SoHi winning 20-25, 25-20, 25-22 and 25-13.
Nikiski jumped-out to a first set win 20-25. The Stars took games two and three 25-20, 25-22 and closed-out with a 25-13 game four. Chloe Armstrong lead the Stars with 10 kills and Adaara Hagelund recorded five blocks. Nikiski’s Ariel VanZandt recorded four kills and five blocks.
Kenai 3 – Wasilla 0
The Kenai Kardinals played up a division and produced a sweep of the Wasilla Warriors 25-22, 25-21 and 26-24 at KCHS on Thursday night.
Andie Galloway lead the Kards with 12 kills and 15 digs; Emma Beck recorded eight kills and Jorgi Phillips had 27 assists and four service aces.
