The Soldotna Special Election’s unofficial results have shown a substantial ‘No’ and the anticipated number of absentee ballots to be counted won’t change that.
Soldotna City Clerk Shelly Saner said by her estimates there will be about 70 absentee and question ballots counted but the vote difference is currently 128.
Saner: “Well we had 46 absentee in-person come in and vote, 12 were mailed, and I believe that 12 came in a voted question ballots during the election.”
That election will not be certified until after the Canvas Board meets Monday February 9 to canvas those questioned and absentee ballots.
Final official counts are expected next Wednesday.
