The City of Soldotna will be accepting applications for the Mini Grant Program. It was established to provide funding to a wide range of civic programs, services, projects and events that contribute to the cultural and economic environment, and/or health, welfare and overall quality of life for the community and residents of Soldotna.
Shannon Davis, Executive Director for the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce spoke with KSRM:
“The City of Soldotna has opened up a mini grant application period. This is kicking off on July 15th, which is Thursday. Awards are limited to $1,000 per recipient. Applications must be a non-profit organization. These are just like a little bump for non-profits out there who do so much for our community. The application process isn’t difficult at all. You can go on the city’s website to find that application.”
The city wants to recognize the contributions provided through the volunteer efforts of the community organizations and agencies, and providing the funding reinstates their commitment to the programs, services, projects and events that benefit the community. The Mini Grant Program will provide funding to applications that align with one of the goals or objectives as established in the City of Soldotna Comprehensive Plan, or other adopted city policy documents.
There is an extensive list for programs that are eligible for funding and programs that are not eligible for funding for these Mini Grants. Applications must be received no earlier than July 15th and no later than midnight on August 15th.
