Soldotna Agenda Includes Home Rule, Appointments, Presentations

The Soldotna City Council agenda is chalked full of a variety of discussions set for tomorrow night’s meeting.

Although it will be put up for public hearing on January 14, an ordinance for the next step in becoming a home rule city will be introduced.

Mayor Nels Anderson…

The ordinance to be discussed January 14 would appropriate $5,000 in the general fund to educate residents of Soldotna about what the special election in February would be asking, which is “Shall a charter commission be elected to prepare a proposed charter”.

Other items on tomorrow night’s agenda will be a slew of appointments to Soldotna Boards and Commissions and a presentation by Nick Nelson with a “Letter of Appreciation” to the city for the installation of the Purple Heart Memorial in Soldotna Creek Park.
