Soldotna Cabin Completely Burned To Ground Killing An Adult Male

Alaska State Troopers on Tuesday, December 21, at 5:35 p.m. received a request to conduct a welfare check on an unidentified adult male at a remote cabin just outside of Soldotna. Family members had reportedly attempted to contact the man for multiple days and had received no response.

 

Prior to AST making it to the area, a family friend went to the cabin to locate the man. The friend found the cabin completely burned to the ground and covered in snow, according to the online state trooper dispatch.

 

Troopers and Deputy Fire Marshals responded to the scene and located the human remains, which were sent to the Alaska State Medical Examiner for positive identification.

 

Deputy Fire Marshals are conducting an origin and cause investigation.
