Whether you’re a landlord, realtor, or business owner, having the basic skills to perform background checks could save you time and money.
Katie Jacobson with the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce says Tuesday’s luncheon will aim to identify the benefits of background checks for businesses.
Jacobson: “We’re going to hear from the Alaska State Troopers’ Lieutenant Dane Gilmore and also some troopers from Anchorage will come down and give us some information on how you can conduct a proper background check. That’s going to be at noon at Froso’s Restaurant, lunch is $15, the meeting is open to the public and free to attend.”
Folowing that luncheon, Lt. Dane Gilmore will lead a workshop at the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge from 2:00 – 4:00 pm to teach the basics of background checks.
Jacobson: “That is going to be a free workshop that business owners, landlords, human resources people can attend, anybody who really wants to learn how to really dig down deeper and do a more in depth background check with some of those open source, free ways to do so. It’ll be a great class.”
Both events require RSVPs to the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce at 262-9814
