When Soldotna’s Shelby Turner posted the video from this summer that showed her now fiancé Shane Moffis proposing with a puppy, she didn’t expect it to go viral.

Turner: “I finally uploaded because people who didn’t have Facebook like my older family and stuff wanted to see the video and just a couple of days later I was contacted by CNN and theknot.com and howheasked.com and all these pages and news people and I just couldn’t believe it.”

In the three weeks since she posted the video on YouTube, it’s gained almost 800,000 views and has been shared by celebrity Facebook pages like Ashton Kutcher and Nicki Minaj.

The video captures Moffis giving Turner what she thought was just a cute, brown puppy that she had requested for her birthday.

Turner: “I just picked her up and little did I know that he was going to have me look at the collar and there’s the ring that I had come up with in my head pretty much. I was blown away, it instantly made my knees buckle and I couldn’t even breath to say yes, it definitely caught me off guard.”

She named the puppy Sitka, after Moffis’ favorite hunting gear, and their wedding has been set for July 30, 2016.
