The proposed Soldotna Field House is a 42,000 square foot athletic and community event facility with a multi-purpose sport court, removable turf field, and an ADA-accessible elevated walking and jogging track.
The facility was designed over a two-year period with input from multiple community stakeholders, and is the culmination of a decades-long effort to build an indoor recreational facility in the central Kenai Peninsula.
Construction of the Soldotna Field House, following passage of the October 4th bond proposal, can be completed in an 18 months to two year window.

This Field House will provide opportunity for Central Peninsula community members to exercise and recreate indoors, 12 months a year. The play surface can accommodate a variety of sports configurations including: soccer and futsal, batting cages for baseball and softball, football, rugby, golf, and flag football. 
The Field House would also provide additional event space to accommodate large meetings and trade shows, and further enhance the capabilities of the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex to host large events that draw thousands of people into the community –including annual events such as the Sport Rec and Trade Show, the Home Show, and the Agricultural Expo.

The proposed bond will be set at a maximum amount of $15 million with the possibility of numerous grants and additional funding sources allowing for an even-smaller bond package.
The Soldotna Fieldhouse is on the ballot for October 4, 2022. All City of Soldotna resident’s will get to vote on the bond ordinance.
According to organizers: There is no Soldotna sales tax increase proposed on this bond ordinance and no increase to Soldotna property taxes.
