The Central Peninsula Landfill in Soldotna will be hosting a hazardous household waste day this Saturday, January 16.
The borough’s hazardous waste disposal program gives households and small businesses the opportunity to properly dispose of hazardous wastes and chemicals.
Businesses are charged a fee and must pre-register with NRC Alaska. Households are free, unless the haul contains more than 55 gallons of waste, in which case they must also pre-register.
The borough’s Solid Waste Department told KSRM News that there is a three drum limit per household, per year.
To pre-register and for specific waste disposal questions, call NRC Alaska at (877) 375-5040. For general questions, call the Kenai Peninsula Borough Solid Waste Department at (907) 262-9667.
The Central Peninsula Landfill will be accepting this waste from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, January 16.
