Soldotna Library Seeing More Attendance In New Facility

The Grand Opening for the new Soldotna City Library was held this Saturday, they now have a brand new space that is their own and no longer inside the Peninsula Center Mall.

 

We spoke with Soldotna City Librarian Rachel Nash who said they have certainly seen more people since the Grand Opening.

 

Nash: “We’ve seen a lot more people coming in especially today since its a holiday, some people didn’t know we were open and as soon as they found out we were they rushed in so its great to see everyone here.” 

 

She said they have a whole week of activities to celebrate their first week in their new building.

 

Nash: “We have actually have a week long celebration of the Grand Opening going on so today, we have a family craft time, that’s going to be a lot of fun and tomorrow we have at 10:30 am we have our first toddler story time it will actually be every Tuesday from now on at 10:30 am so come out and bring your kids, its for 18 months – Pre-K but older or younger siblings are welcome too, it will be in the children’s area also tomorrow night we will have the Spur Highway Spankers blue grass band coming and they will be here from 5:00 – 7:00 pm and we’re very excited for that as well.”

 

Nash said there are other things going on during the week, on Wednesday 10:30 they will have their Bouncing Baby Story time, on Thursday they will host E-Books at the library from 3:00 – 4:00 pm and Friday from 4:00 – 5:00 pm will be their first Teen’s at the library program.
