A 27-year-old man was arrested over the weekend for vehicle-related charges.

Alaska State Troopers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motorcycle for equipment violations on Holt Lamplight Road around 11:45 p.m. on Sunday night. The motorcycle failed to yield and began to drive a high rate of speed reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour and was in both lanes of travel. The driver of the motorcycle eventually reached the end of a dead-end road, ditched his bike and allegedly ran off into the woods. The driver was found hiding in the back seat of a vehicle at a nearby residence.

Devin Davis of Soldotna was identified by troopers. He allegedly refused to exit the vehicle and was pepper sprayed. Once he left the vehicle he was arrested. An investigation revealed that Davis was in possession of a black Yamaha motorcycle with the VIN number ground off. Troopers report that Davis allegedly attempted to hide his helmet in the back of the vehicle under car mats. Davis also had the wrong license plate on the motorcycle and was driving with his license suspended.

Davis faces multiple criminal charges including eluding, unlawful possession, tampering with evidence, reckless driving, driving with license suspended, and improper use of evidence of registration. He was arrested and remanded at Wildwood Pretrial.
