Soldotna Public Library Receives Donation

The Soldotna City Council made an easy decision on Wednesday, March 27th, to accept a donation for the city library.

 

The ordinance (2024-006) would increase the general fund by $10,000 thanks to a donation from Debbie McCarthy.

 

In a memo from Rachel Nash, the Soldotna City Librarian, the Joyce K. Carver Memorial Soldotna Public Library received a $10,000 donation from Deborah McCarthy.

 

According to Soldotna City Clerk Johni Blankenship, “We are very grateful for this donation, and the funding will be used for a library needs assessment. ”

 

All of the library staff members expressed gratitude for Ms. McCarthy’s generous donation, alongside all of the members of the Council.

 

“Thank you, Miss McCarthy, for this donation to our library,” said Vice Mayor Lisa Parker.

 

After a swift vote, all six City Council members were in favor, an the Soldotna City library successfully received their $10,000 donation from Deborah McCarthy.
