The Soldotna Saints Pee Wee division football team captured the state championship as the 2014 Alaska Pop Warner Football Championships were contested on Sunday at the Anchorage Football Stadium.
The Soldotna Saints Pee Wee football team defeated the Anchorage Panthers 40-6 for the state Pop Warner title in the Pee Wee division. Jordan Spies, Josh Hieber, Mekahi Rich scored touchdowns; Jersey Trusedall threw a pair of touchdown passes.
The Soldotna Saints Jr. Pee Wee team fell in its championship game 14-12 to the Anchorage Panthers.
