The City of Soldotna has been notified by residents of the dusty street conditions.
Sturman: “It’s pretty daggone dusty on most of the main streets. I agree the sides are wet, but the centers are dry and they’ve been that way for two or three days.”
In a release Friday, the City stated that street sweeping cannot begin until temperatures above 40 degrees are seen as water must be used to control dust for health reasons.
If sweepers were to begin sweeping while it is still cold enough to freeze, the water used would only create icy conditions, and a further need to sand.
