The City of Soldotna will allow for absentee voters to electronically vote by emailing or fax in ballots during elections.
City Clerk Shellie Saner detailed what voters might notice.
Saner: “First notice will be absentee voting electronically so before we would mail ballots and they would only be able to come back by mail, now people will be able to fax them, scan and email them, its just making it a more friendly process for the people that are traveling during the election time.”
According to Kenai City Clerk Sandra Modigh, the process worked well last year.
Modigh: “We do electronic absentee voting, which can be done via email, we used that for the first time last year and it was successful.”
