Soldotna To Increase General Funds Thanks To Forfeited Property

The Soldotna City Council held a brief discussion on Wednesday, January 10th to talk about an ordinance that would increase revenues in the general fund.

 

The official ordinance ( 2024-040) would be set to increase the general fund by $4,455.71 for forfeited property.

 

This ordinance was brought up to the council by Soldotna City Manger Janette Bower.

 

“The funds are from forfeits in criminal cases and the police department intends on using those funds to acquire additional tasers,” said Bower.

 

According to documents, the forfeited funds would also be used to replace any other aging accessories.

 

If this ordinance were to be accepted, it would be in place immediately.

 

After a vote, all city council members were in favor of the ordiance.
