COVID-19 vaccinations have been a hot commodity among those who are eligible. Right now, in Alaska, that refers to persons aged 65 or older and workers in health care settings, including someone who stays home to care for an elderly family member.
South Peninsula Hospital told KSRM on Tuesday afternoon that they still have a few dozen appointments open for Friday and Saturday, February 12 and 13. This will be for first dose appointments among the eligible population, or for those who received a first dose on January 15 or 16, second doses can be issued.
The vaccines will be at South Peninsula Hospital, as vaccines are not currently available at Homer Medical Center or South Peninsula Family Care Clinic at this time. To register, visit them online or call (907) 235-0235 for more information.
Note that these appointments are likely to fill before the weekend, so contact SPH to check on availability after the publication time of this article.
