The battle of the South will determine the Division I ASAA football championship when South Anchorage High (6-4) battles Service High (8-2) in the ASAA First National Bowl Football Championship on Friday, October 25 at the Anchorage Football Stadium. Game time scheduled for 7 p.m.
The South Wolverines and Service Cougars faced each other September 21st in the regular season with the Cougars topping South 36-21. South upset West in the football semi-finals last week 21-14 with a touchdown in the final seconds. Service held-off Colony 27-18 to advance to the championship game.
Service and South met in the Division I football championship game in 2011 and 2012. Service won the first meeting 37-23; South won in 2012 by a score of 28-19. South also owns a state championship from 2014 with a 20-6 victory over West.
