The Nikiski Bulldogs head coaches for both the girls and boys programs were named Southcentral Conference Coach of the Year; selected by vote of the conference coaches.
Scott Anderson, head coach for the Nikiski girls basketball team, was named Coach of the Year following a regular season in which the Bulldog girls were unbeaten in 3A basketball except for games against the ACS Lions.
Reid Kornstad, head coach for the Nikiski boys basketball program, was named Coach of the Year leading the Bulldogs to a third-place finish at the SCC tournament.
Nikiski’s Bethany Carstens was selected by conference coaches as the SCC girls MVP, leading the Bulldogs to the conference runner-up and to a 3A state tournament berth. Bethany averaged over 20 points per game for the 2017-18 regular season.
