The regular season for high school 3A basketball is completed and the seedings and brackets have been released for the upcoming Southcentral Conference Basketball Tournament, with teams from the Kenai Peninsula , Anchorage and the Mat-Su representing the Southcentral South and Southcentral North.
Southcentral Conference Tournament games will run from Thursday, March 11th through Championship Saturday on March 13th.
Kenai Central High School will host the boys bracket of the Southcentral tournament and Nikiski High will host the girls bracket of the Southcentral tournament.
Seeding Information
Southcentral South teams include: KCHS, Nikiski, Homer and Seward. Southcentral North teams include: ACS, Grace, Houston and Redington.
Tournament brackets open with four, first round games on Thursday for both girls and boys; teams are seeded base on regular season conference games. For the 2021 season, Kenai, Homer and Seward only played peninsula teams; Nikiski managed a single road pairing against the Houston Hawks. The lack of cross-divisional games influenced the tournament brackets.

The Grace Christian School Grizzlies earned the #1 seed from the North and face the #4 South Nikiski Bulldogs in the first round of the boys tournament.

Mitigation Protocols
Kenai Central and Nikiski will be following Kenai Peninsula Borough School District, NFHS and ASAA mitigation plans and protocols.
Protocols will include a mandatory mask policy for all spectators, personnel and participants. Protocols will also include limits on total number of spectators and mitigation measures for game procedures.
The Alaska School Activities Association revised and fully explained (on March 5th) the mask policies which will be in effect at the Southcentral Conference tournament and at all ASAA sanctioned state basketball tournaments.
