Weight restrictions on all state maintained paved and gravel roads on the Kenai Peninsula go into affect at 8 am March 31.
Local state maintained gravel roads south of Portage Glacier Highway will be restricted to 50 percent and those paved roads will be lowered to 75 percent.
For those traveling north, the Anchorage, Girdwood and Eagle River area which stretches from south of the Eklutna Interchange and north of Portage Glacier Hwy will also be lowered to 75 percent.
All those areas are included in the Central Region boundaries which extend from Homer on the Sterling Highway and Seward on the Seward Highway to Mile 118 on the Glenn Highway and Mile 163 on the Parks Highway.
