SRSC Protocols On Agenda For Soldotna City Council

The Soldotna City Council will take-up proposed revisions to the current COVID-19 protocols in place for the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex at the scheduled meeting of the Soldotna City Council on Wednesday, January 24th at Soldotna City Hall.

 

The City Council will address Resolution 2021-009 – Updating the Soldotna Regional Sports Complex COVID19 Protocols to Increase Spectator Capacity to 750 and Authorizing the City Manager to Enter into an Agreement with the Kenai River Brown Bears for the Remainder of the 2020-2021 Hockey Season.

 

The current protocols for the SRSC are as listed and approved on January 13, 2021.

  • Masks: All persons entering the building are required to wear masks at all times, except athletes and officials when they are on the ice. Coaches must wear masks at all times, even when on the ice. By definition, ‘on the ice’ includes penalty benches and team benches.
  • Games and Scrimmages: for Youth Hockey, High School, and Rusty Blades is allowed.
  • Arrival/Departure Times: All persons entering the building may arrive 15 minutes before ice time and must depart 15 minutes after ice time.
  • Hockey On-Ice Capacity: The allowed on-ice capacity includes players, coaches and officials and are established as follows: 44 on the ice for U6 and U8, 50 on the ice for all other hockey events, 25 on the ice for freestyle skate
  • Public Skate On-Ice Capacity: The allowed on-ice capacity during public skate is limited to 50 persons per session
  • Spectators: Only 250 spectators shall be allowed in the building during any ice event.
  • Team Rooms: Team rooms will be open.
  • Hockey Organization Responsibilities: All hockey organizations shall identify a COVID-19 Point of Contact.The designated point of contact shall be responsible for the following: informing players, parents, coaches and officials of the SRSC facility protocols; establish check-ins for all practices and games and perform a health screening at all check-ins for practices and games; and shall maintain an attendance log for practices.
